Loes Jaspers won the Lamberts Prize

Loes Jaspers has won the Lamberts prize. Loes is currently doing her PhD within ErasmusAGE.

Loes Jaspers heeft zich ontwikkeld op een zeer specifiek onderwerp binnen haar masteronderzoek met een grote maatschappelijke betekenis: gezond ouder worden. De jury is ook erg te spreken over haar sterke maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Jaspers heeft niet alleen goed nagedacht over de manier waarop ze de prijs wil besteden, de jury was erg te spreken over haar keuze om de helft van het bedrag te doneren aan de Do Hawood Foundation als investering van het opleiden van 1 arts in Somaliland. Een deel van die opleiding betaalt ze zelf. 

The Professor H.W. Lambers prize is awarded to an excellent student with 2 Master's degrees from different disciplines, of which the last one has to be obtained from the Erasmus University, Rotterdam. One of the two degrees should be obtained with distinction (cum laude). Each faculty nominates their 2 best candidates. From the nominated candidates, a jury, consisting of the Rector Magnificus, two professors, and 2 students, selects the best candidate.

The price will be handed out during the opening of the Academic Year 2016-2017 on Monday 29 August 2016.
